Study Abroad: Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade (SIFT)

Founded in 1960,the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade (SIFT) is the sole institution of higher education for international business in the East China region. SIFT boasts a long history of business education with its distinctive traits and traditional superiority.

The Law School stands out in the studies and teaching of international economic law, its predecessor being SIFT International Economic Law Department, the first such department in China authorized by the Ministry of Education. The Law School offers undergraduate programs in Law (focusing on International Economic Law, Mercantile Law and Administrative Management respectively), an M.A. program in International Law, and an in-service program equivalent to M.A. in International Law.

SIFT is located on two campuses, one in Gubei and the other in Songjiang. Situated in the Songjiang University Town, the Songjiang campus is a first-class modern university campus, equipped with modern lecture rooms and a language and information center.  The Gubei campus houses an impressive library and language laboratory.

Shanghai is the most populous city in China and the world. A global city, Shanghai exerts influence over global commerce, finance, culture, art, fashion, research and entertainment. The city is located at the middle portion of the Chinese coast, and sits at the mouth of the Yangtze.
