The American Board of Trial Advocates will honor National Board member Wayne Hogan with the association's Champion of Justice Award on August 19, 2023. Hogan, an ABOTA National Board Representative from the Jacksonville Chapter, is being recognized for his commitment to continuing the professional education of law students and those engaged in law practice. Emil Pratesi passed away on March 26, 2022 at Palm Harbor, Florida. He was retired from the law practice. Posted 4.18.22

Wayne Hogan, president of the Terrell Hogan law firm, was presented with the S. Victor Tipton Award for excellence in legal writing by the Florida Justice Association during the Masters of Justice Conference in Orlando on September 26, 2019. Posted 11.14.19

 

Eugene E. Stearns won a case with his firm, Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson, P.A. in Miami, resulting in a settlement of $100 million. Stearns is a shareholder and serves as chairman of the firm's board of directors and chairman of the litigation department. Posted 12.12.18

Eugene E. Stearns will be honored as a Grad Made Good at the annual Florida State University Homecoming Awards Breakfast on October 20, 2018. The award recognizes alumni who have made a significant difference through outstanding success in their chosen fields. Stearns is a shareholder at Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson, P.A. in Miami, where he serves as chairman of the firm's board of directors and chairman of the litigation department. Posted 10.16.18

He also earned board certification in Condominium and Planned Development Law from The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education. Dunbar, a shareholder at Dean Mead in Tallahassee, will have a book signing on November 8 at Hearth and Soul in Tallahassee to salute veterans, Volunteers of America of Florida's Tallahassee Veterans Village and the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Guadalcanal/Solomon Islands. shields-mcmanus.jpgThe Honorable F. Shields McManus has retired as a circuit court judge for Florida's Nineteenth Judicial Circuit. He has opened The Law Office of  F. Shields McManus in Stuart, where he practices civil and family litigation, and mediation. Posted 10.16.17

 

The Honorable Steven Wallace, a justice court judge in Utah’s Sixth District, will retire on October 17, 2017. He served more than 15 years as a judge in Utah and Florida. Posted 8.30.17

The award recognizes a dedicated member whose courtroom advocacy has significantly advanced the rights of the wrongfully injured and furthered the cause of justice. Posted 8.2.17

 

The Honorable Kim C. Hammond passed away on July 16, 2017 after battling illness for many years. He served more than 30 years as circuit judge in Flagler County. Posted 7.20.17
