Alderman HeadshotSilvia M. Alderman was recently named to the Top 50 Florida Women Super Lawyers list. A former deputy general counsel of the Florida Department of Environmental Regulation (now DEP), Alderman is the chair of Akerman’s Water Task Force, a team of multidisciplinary legal professionals and consultants advising clients on regulatory and environmental challenges. The Honorable Mark H. Gibbons passed away on January 3, 2020 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Posted 1.8.20

Nancy A. Daniels received the 2019 Martha Barnett Women Lawyers of Achievement Award from the Tallahassee Bar Association on June 4, 2019. The award was established to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of women lawyers from Florida’s Second Judicial Circuit. Each year, the award honors an outstanding woman lawyer who has achieved professional excellence and who has been an advocate or mentor for the advancement of other women lawyers. Daniels serves as the legislative consultant to the Florida Public Defender Association. Posted 7.8.19

goldman_robert_web.jpgRobert S. Goldman, of counsel at Dean Mead in Tallahassee, was recognized in Florida Trend's 2018 Legal Elite. He has over 30 years of experience practicing in state and local taxation. Posted 8.22.18

 

The Honorable Jose R. Rodriguez, circuit judge for the Ninth Judicial Circuit of Florida, will retire from the judiciary effective January 7, 2019 after more than 30 years of service. Posted 5.14.18

Nancy A. Daniels received the 2017 Tallahassee Bar Association Lifetime Professionalism Award. She served as public defender for the Second Judicial Curcuit for 26 years before retiring in 2016. Posted 1.31.18

Guy E. Burnette, Jr. passed away on November 8, 2017 after a five-year battle with Corticobasil Degeneration. He worked as an attorney for more than 38 years, with a practice primarily dedicated to civil litigation, forensic fire consulting, and fire service/law enforcement training. Posted 11.21.17

The Honorable Debra A. Heise was recognized as a retiring judge by the Idaho State Bar at the First District Bar Association Resolution Meeting on November 2. She served Bonner County and the First Judicial District as a magistrate judge. Posted 11.6.17

Robert J. Tirelli passed away on March 5, 2017. He taught at Taylor County High School in Perry, where he had been named Teacher of the Year. Posted 6.12.17
