Submissions

The Journal is pleased to receive for consideration articles from authors in any discipline. The Journal also welcomes articles from students at any college of law or graduate school. Authors are encouraged to submit their articles via e-mail in Microsoft Word or by mail on a CD. All submissions should be in general conformity with The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (20th ed. 2015). Manuscripts submitted without sufficient postage cannot be returned.

The Journal of Land Use and Environmental Law welcomes submissions of manuscripts on timely issues relevant to the Journal's subject matter.

The Journal encourages use of the ExpressO submission service, although we do accept submissions directly, as well, at law-jluel@lists.fsu.edu. Manuscripts should conform to the following specifications:

File Format: Microsoft Word
Attachments: Cover Letter and CV
Document Formatting: 12-point font and footnotes
Citation Formatting: Citations should conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (20th ed. 2015), with citations to Florida sources conforming to the Florida State University Law Review Style Manual, a copy of which may be obtained from the Florida State Law Review.

Requests for expedited review may be made through either the ExpressO submission software or directly to the Journal at law-jluel@lists.fsu.edu. The Journal prefers to have at least 10 to 14 days to conduct a review — manuscripts submitted under a shorter deadline may not be reviewed at all.

In reviewing the manuscripts, the Journal considers many factors, all of which contribute to our decision of whether or not to send a publication offer. Generally, however, the Journal looks for: a timely and relevant legal issue, problem and solution discussed, author credentials, style, uniqueness of argument, quality of research and initial quality of submission (minimal citation and grammatical errors).

If you have any additional questions, please contact the Journal at law-jluel@lists.fsu.edu. Thank you for your interest in publishing with the Journal and we look forward to reading your manuscript!
