Professor Griffith is a member of the American Law Institute and author of many law journal articles on immigration law and consumer protection law. He teaches Commercial Paper, Consumer Law and Immigration Law, and has taught Law and Psychiatry.

Before he joined Florida State University College of Law's faculty in 1986, he served as Assistant Counsel for the Chase Manhattan Bank, Assistant Dean and Assistant Professor at Drake Law School, Associate Dean and Professor at University of Cincinnati Law School, and Professor and Dean at DePaul University College of Law. He is a member of the editorial board of Caribbean Law and Business. Professor Griffith received his LL.M. in International Law from New York University.
