Federal Financial Aid

All students interested in applying for federal financial aid must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students who have previously completed a FAFSA may complete a Renewal Application.

The application and renewal form are available electronically by accessing U.S. Department of Education's FAFSA.

FAFSA applications for the current academic year may be submitted as early as January 1 of each year. Awards are made on a first come, first served basis. Some types of aid are limited in funding, so apply as soon as possible after January 1st of each year.

If you have any specific questions about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), call the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 800.4.FED.AID (800.433.3243) TTY: 800.730.8913 or 319.337.5665.

Students can access information on their financial aid status through the “Financial Aid Student Toolkit,” accessible with an FSU ID through Blackboard. The Student Toolkit also allows users to submit relevant information and complete required forms electronically.
