Florida State University College of Law is regarded as one of the nation’s top law schools. The College of Law offers students a wide variety of courses taught by nationally and internationally recognized legal experts.
Our student body comes from 32 states, 15 countries and 191 colleges and universities. The wide variety of experiences and backgrounds of our students provides for robust dialogue between students and faculty both inside and outside of the classroom.
Our location in Florida's capital city provides students numerous opportunities to gain legal experience while taking classes. Tallahassee is home to 500-plus law firms, the Florida Governor's Office and Legislature, several courts and many state agencies.
The admissions committee admits students with strong academic records and competitive LSAT scores. Other factors considered include exceptional personal talents, interesting or demanding work or service experience, rigorousness of undergraduate course study, leadership potential, graduate study, maturity and the ability to communicate effectively.
Applications for the first-year class are accepted from September 1 through March 15 for admission the following August. Transfer applicants are admitted throughout the year. The Juris Doctor degree program is a full-time day program.
