What makes FSU Law unique?
The students are definitely what make FSU Law special. Before applying to law school, you'll hear about how competitive and cutthroat law school is. That has not been my experience at all. Despite the curve putting me and my section against each other, I've made the best of friends with people I'm supposedly competing with for the top grades in the class. I've never felt the need to "sabotage" my classmates or feel them trying to outdo me. We all support each other.
Why should a prospective student choose FSU College of Law?
FSU provides three things that, in my view, make it the best law school in Florida. First, the professors. The professors all make an effort to get to know each student. They are excellent teachers and want nothing more than to see you succeed. Second, the administrative faculty of the law school, including the career services, admissions, and student advancement, is always available to answer your questions and help you achieve your goals. Lastly, one thing you'll hear from practicing attorneys is that law school does not prepare you to be an attorney, only working as an attorney can teach you that. At FSU, there are more opportunities to get hands-on experience with real clients and cases than one can complete in three years of law school. Tallahassee is only behind D.C. in its concentration of attorneys in the area, and FSU provides dozens of opportunities to network with them. You will leave FSU with experience and confidence to begin practicing as an attorney.
What is your favorite thing about FSU Law?
My favorite thing about FSU Law is the student life. There are so many opportunities to grow closer with your classmates.
