Tallahassee

The Florida State University College of Law is located in the heart of downtown Tallahassee – the capital of the nation’s third-largest state.

Few other law schools in the nation can compete in terms of location. No other law school in Florida can provide the unique legal opportunities that accompany being located in the state capital. In addition to invaluable opportunities in Tallahassee, FSU law students have opportunities to gain experience around the globe. All of these opportunities for students to obtain hands-on legal experience translate into jobs around the world for our graduates.

Our law school campus is within walking distance of the Florida Capitol, the Florida Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida, and many government agencies. Studying in Tallahassee provides students with many opportunities to gain valuable, real-world work experience that employers desire. Tallahassee offers a wide variety of clerking and internship opportunities in more than 500 law firms, numerous state and federal courts, and the legislative and executive branches of government. Our students are not limited to work opportunities in just Tallahassee, though. Many of our more than 100 externship placements are located throughout Florida and beyond.

Because there are so many attorneys, government leaders, and judges in Tallahassee, students also have many opportunities to network. Many of Tallahassee’s legal professionals regularly visit campus to teach and talk with students.
