Alison DeBelder
Alison DeBelder is the Director of Career Services. She began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in Jacksonville, Florida. She later shifted to civil legal aid and served as Advocacy Director for a large legal aid office and practiced Fair Housing law. She has worked in both LSC-funded and unrestricted legal aid programs. She led a team of advocates and attorneys protecting the civil rights of individuals with disabilities at the statewide Protection and Advocacy organization. She has worked at a legal technology non-profit, as a mitigation specialist, and taught both graduate and undergraduate students. DeBelder is actively involved in professional organizations, serving as a member of the Public Interest Law Section of the Florida Bar's Executive Council and its Disability workgroup. In addition to her legal practice, DeBelder created and co-hosted "Trauma InJustice," a podcast about trauma in the criminal justice system.
