Janine Welch

Janine Welch joined the College of Law in June 2025 as the Assistant Dean of Administration. In this role, she oversees faculty support, operations management, data and accreditation reporting, compliance, policy implementation, and a wide array of other responsibilities as they arise. In short—if you're not sure who to call, she's the person to contact.

Welch previously served as the Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, and before that, as Director of Finance here at the College of Law. She brings a wealth of experience in higher education administration, strategic planning, and operational leadership.

She holds an M.A. in Library and Information Studies and an Ed.S. in Higher Education from Florida State University, as well as a B.A. in English from the University of Alaska.

When not orchestrating administrative magic in the office, Welch can usually be found on a bike trail, camping in the North Georgia mountains, or lending her time to various volunteer efforts. She’s crossed the country twice—once by bicycle and once in a motorhome—and hopes her next adventure will combine the best of both.
