Mike Markham serves as the Director of the Bankruptcy Pro Bono Clinic, where law students gain hands-on experience handling federal bankruptcy matters while helping individuals who cannot afford legal representation navigate complex bankruptcy proceedings.
Before leading the clinic, Markham taught a bankruptcy practice course and has practiced bankruptcy law for more than 30 years. Since 1988, he has been a partner at Johnson, Pope, Bokor, Ruppel & Burns, LLP, concentrating on bankruptcy and insolvency-related litigation. Throughout his career, he has represented a wide range of parties in bankruptcy cases across the country—including debtors, creditors, committees, and trustees—and currently serves as a Subchapter V Trustee in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida.
An engaged alumnus of the College of Law, Markham previously served on the Alumni Association Board of Directors and regularly volunteers with the Career Services Office by interviewing students and participating in events such as the JD Advisor Fair. His extensive practice experience and commitment to mentorship bring exceptional depth and real-world insight to the Bankruptcy Pro Bono Clinic.
