Join us on October 29, at 3:15 p.m., in the D'Alemberte Rotunda for this year's annual Lillich Lecture as Professor Nuno Garoupa from George Mason University delivers this year's lecture on "Comparative Judicial Activism: Conceptual and Measurement Challenges."

This presentation addresses a key question in comparative judicial politics: whether the U.S. Supreme Court can be considered more "activist" than any Western European Constitutional Court. Professor Garoupa will explore this question along with other critical issues, such as the complexities surrounding the definition of "judicial activism" and the difficulties in comparing this concept across different courts and jurisdictions.
