We are excited to announce that FSU Law will commemorate a pivotal moment for the country, the state, and our law school — the 25th Anniversary of Bush v. Gore — from February 28-March 1, 2025! This two-day event, hosted by the Election Law Center under the leadership of Professor Michael Morley and Executive Director Maureen Wagner Vinson, explores the most impactful election case in American history.

The conference will feature a keynote address from Ted Olson and David Boies, the lead counsels for each side of the landmark case argued before the U.S. Supreme Court. They will provide invaluable insights into the legal arguments presented and reflect on the profound effects of the ruling over the past quarter-century. This event will also highlight the one-of-a-kind gallery opening featuring original U.S. Supreme Court copyrighted artist sketches depicting the high-profile court case.

In addition to the keynote speeches, we will delve into the implications of Bush v. Gore, assess how the federal judiciary’s role in resolving election disputes has evolved since then, and examine the ongoing impact of the case’s holdings. Attendees can also look forward to engaging panels featuring attorneys, judges, election law professors, and key state officials.

Mark your calendars and be part of this important dialogue. We look forward to seeing you there!
