This summer, the FSU College of Law proudly welcomed 50 exceptional undergraduate students from across the country for the 2025 Donald J. Weidner Summer for Undergraduates Program (SUG)—the nation's largest and longest-running program of its kind.

For more than three decades, SUG has provided an unparalleled opportunity for students to explore the study of law and build foundational skills for academic and professional success. Throughout the intensive three-week program, participants were immersed in the law school experience. They attended classes in legal writing, torts, and contracts; observed Florida Supreme Court proceedings; and engaged in conversations with judges, practicing attorneys, and current law students.

The program also offered valuable insight into the law school admissions process, helping participants chart a clear path forward in their legal careers. SUG is more than a summer program—it’s a pipeline to the legal profession and a life-changing experience for aspiring lawyers. We are deeply grateful to the faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters who make this transformative program possible year after year. We can’t wait to see how far this year’s cohort will go, and we hope to welcome many of them back as future FSU Law students.
