David Spence, Baker Botts chair in law at the University of Texas School of Law and professor of business, government and society at the McCombs School of Business, is the co-author of the leading energy law casebook, Energy, Economics and the Environment, and has published numerous scholarly articles on subjects relating to energy policy, regulation and the regulatory process. Professor Spence presented our Fall 2019 Environmental Law Distinguished Lecture last October. Complexity and the Energy Transition in the Age of Fracture explored how making progress on climate mitigation will require not only resolve, but also difficult tradeoffs and value choices.
