James Parker-Flynn directs and oversees the Business Law, Environmental Law, and International Law Certificate programs, working closely with faculty and staff to produce meaningful legal educational opportunities for Certificate students. He also coordinates and oversees the Environmental Law and Business Law LL.M. programs. Additionally, he teaches courses in the JD program and JM program, and serves as the faculty advisor to the FSU Business Review, the Journal of Land Use and Environmental Law, and the Journal of Transnational Law & Policy.
Before donning the Assistant Dean hat, Professor Parker-Flynn served as the Director of the Center for Environmental, Energy, and Land Use Law, where he worked to create a dynamic learning environment for Environmental Law Certificate students, maintain relationships with alumni, and promote the Center’s many events and accomplishments. During his time at FSU Law, he has taught Land Use, Energy Law & Policy, Oil & Gas Law, and Environmental Justice.
Before joining the FSU Law faculty, Parker-Flynn practiced law with Carlton Fields, where he specialized in appellate practice, land use litigation, and environmental law, assisting clients with various regulatory and litigation issues. He has handled environmental and land use litigation in Florida’s state courts and administrative forums, and has worked on various appeals and other litigation in state and federal courts nationwide.
