Thank you to everyone who attended the FSU Election Law Center's annual Election Law Conference commemorating the 25th anniversary of Bush v. Gore. We were thrilled to welcome over 250 attendees from across the country, all eager to engage in a thoughtful and in-depth analysis of this pivotal case in American history. The conference was truly a remarkable event, packed with meaningful discussions and commemorative content. We had the privilege of hearing from a range of speakers who offered unique perspectives on the case. Federal and state judges, along with former state and county officials who were directly involved in resolving the 2000 election disputes, provided invaluable insights into the legal complexities and political challenges that shaped the course of history. Additionally, attendees were treated to engaging panels featuring more than a dozen nationally recognized election law professors, each of whom contributed their expertise and deep knowledge of election law and its evolving landscape. A highlight of the event was the keynote address delivered by David Boies and Ben Ginsberg, the counsels who represented opposing sides in Bush v. Gore. Their reflections on the legal arguments, the Supreme Court’s decision, and the lasting impact of the case over the past 25 years were both thought-provoking and enlightening.
