With Josh Coco now settled in as the executive director of the Stoops Center for Law and Business, we're excited to provide this update on the center's progress. The Institute of Law, Technology and Innovation, which is part of the Stoops Center, is gearing up to offer twice monthly free CLE webinars on timely law and technology topics.

The center is focused on its goal to connect the law school community with the business community, thereby advancing FSU Law’s reputation in the field of business law, while creating new experiences for law students interested in business law. Since evolving advances in technology are changing the way our students will practice law, we are also developing an extensive curriculum for a business certificate for law and technology for the J.D. students. This will provide a new specialization within the already established business law certificate.

The center is also in the process of strongly marketing our non-law related executive education courses and certifications to business and compliance professionals. Many of these courses also present a wonderful opportunity for lawyers to receive valuable training and CLE credit in various specialized business areas.

Also, our nationally ranked online Juris Master Program, a 30-credit-hour master’s degree in law, continues to provide professionals and business leaders across industries the legal acumen and skills essential for leadership.

Whether you have clients who need help ascertaining when they should contact legal counsel or you know other business professionals who could benefit from any of these virtual and self-paced courses, please direct them to the center's new website at fsulawandbusiness.com.
