Why did you choose the College of Law?
What do you feel is unique about the College of Law?
Being able to go to law school walking distance from the capitol of the state is an incredible advantage we are afforded. The College of Law’s location in Tallahassee provides us with excellent employment and networking opportunities by being just a few blocks away from the State Capitol Complex and the Florida Supreme Court. Tallahassee also has this feel of being both a larger city and a close-knit college town which I really think is special.
Why did you choose the College of Law?
I chose Florida State Law because of the many opportunities offered for my pursuit of International Human Rights Law and I saw that there was diversity in the human rights curriculum that I could not find elsewhere. Additionally, the faculty greatly impressed me and quickly made me feel connected.
Why did you choose the College of Law?
Prior to accepting my seat, I chose to attend the College of Law’s Admitted Student Preview Day in order to ascertain the institutional culture. After conversing with professors and current students it became evident that Florida State Law was the perfect fit for me. While there was never any doubt that Florida State was an academically prestigious institution, what I observed was a very collegial culture amongst the students and the most welcoming academic environment I had ever experienced.
What do you feel is unique about the College of Law?
The strong sense of community at FSU Law draws a stark contrast from stories I had previously heard about law school. For example, professors here are very personable and will take time to sit with students in the common areas and get to know us on a personal level. Also, students here genuinely want to help each other despite the innate competitiveness of law school and commonly form study groups to work together on reviewing material.
Why did you choose the College of Law?
I chose the FSU College of Law because it was by far the best learning environment I had seen when I was applying to and touring schools. Everyone is friendly and helpful, not just the staff and faculty, but also the students and alumni. You can tell that everyone genuinely cares about your success whether it be in the classroom, extra-curriculars, or in helping with future career plans.
