FSU Law's Student Animal Legal Defense Fund (SALDF) has been selected as a national Chapter of the Year for a second consecutive year. FSU Law’s SALDF was recognized with the award by the Animal Legal Defense Fund, a national organization dedicated to protecting the lives and advancing the interests of animals through the legal system. This is the fourth time FSU's SALDF chapter has been recognized with the prestigious honor. SALDF was selected for the award after a year of hosting many enriching events. During the 2021-2022 academic year, the chapter protested alongside the Humane Society at the Florida Capitol to protect dogs from abuse in puppy mills, partnered with FSU Law’s Environmental Law Society to raise awareness of the harmful impacts of animal agriculture, and held another successful animal law writing competition with Pets ad Litem, Inc. and The Florida Bar Animal Law Section. Congratulations to our SALDF students, especially the 2021-2022 board members, on this much-deserved national recognition!
