Charmaine Smith

Charmaine Smith is from St. Catherine, Jamaica and received her LL.B. from the University of Technology, Jamaica in St. Andrew. She received her Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School and began practicing in 2014. During her studies, she worked as an administrative assistant and legal intern for eGov Jamaica Limited and Tax Administration Jamaica. After graduating, she worked as an administrator for eGov Jamaica Limited, and became their compliance officer in 2018. Smith has over 20 years of experience in administrative and legal operations. Merging those two fields are among her reasons for pursuing an LL.M. in Business Law. She is very passionate about corporate law and upon completing her LL.M., she intends to work in compliance or as an In-house Counsel.
