TALLAHASSEE—Local governments handle land-use regulation within their jurisdictions, while regional and state agencies play a significant role in water management. How those separate entities—which come to the table with different expertise, cultures and interests—can work together most efficiently and effectively are pressing concerns. 

On March 28, the Florida State University College of Law and the Environmental and Land Use Section of The Florida Bar will host a forum to provide differing perspectives of local and state government on the issue of land use and water management integration and to stimulate discussion on large-scale planning projects that deal with these issues. The forum will be held at the law school from 3:30-5 p.m. in Room 101. A reception will follow in the D’Alemberte Rotunda.

• Bob Dennis, Water Supply Planning, Florida Department of Community Affairs
• Janet Llewellyn, deputy director of Water Resource Management, Florida Department of Environmental Protection
• John Scholz, Eppes Professor of Political Science, Florida State University
• George Willson, Willson Consulting

David Markell, the Steven M. Goldstein Professor, will moderate. Florida Bar CLE credit is available.
