TALLAHASSEE—Rebecca Bonfanti, a 2005 graduate of the College of Law, has been named the school’s new assistant director of Development and Alumni Relations. She will succeed Kelly Wardrop, who will leave June 23 to move to Orlando.

Rebecca has worked part time in the Development Office as a student assistant under Kelly’s tutelage for the past year and a half while earning her law degree.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to work for the College of Law, and I look forward to building lasting relationships with our alumni, our faculty and our current student body,” she said.

In her new position, Rebecca will create and coordinate the law school’s Annual Fund and organize alumni events, such as Homecoming Weekend, The Florida Bar Annual Meeting and alumni receptions. She also will be responsible for the school’s Book Award Program, organizing and supervising the Annual Fund Phonathon and managing the alumni database, which supports the on-line alumni directory.

Before entering law school, Rebecca taught high school for three years in Vidalia, Ga., and was a marketing coordinator with Vidalia Naval Stores Company. She received her teaching certification in secondary social studies education from Georgia Southern University and her undergraduate degree cum laude from Jacksonville University, where she majored in communications with an emphasis in public relations/broadcasting.
