Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Named Dean at Willamette University College of Law

James Edmund & Margaret Elizabeth Hennessey Corry Professor and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Curtis Bridgeman has been named dean of the Willamette University College of Law. Bridgeman will begin serving as dean of the Salem, Oregon, college in July 2013.

A scholar on the philosophy of private law, Bridgeman joined the Florida State University College of Law in 2004. He received the University Graduate Teaching Award in 2009 and was voted “Professor of the Year” by law students three separate years. He has served as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs since 2011.

“Curtis is an accomplished scholar, a brilliant teacher and a great administrator,” said Dean Don Weidner. “Although we shall all miss him very much, we are proud that he is taking the helm at Willamette.”
