TALLAHASSEE — Florida State University College of Law students and graduates ranked first among the state’s 11 law schools on the November 2011 administration of the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE). The MPRE is one of two portions of the Florida Bar Examination.

Florida State Law examinees taking the November 2011 MPRE who have an application on file with the Florida Board of Bar Examiners and who requested that their exam score be sent to Florida passed by a rate of 90.9 percent, according to statistics released by the Florida Board of Bar Examiners. The overall passage rate of the 1,135 examinees who meet those two criteria was 79.8 percent.  The MPRE was administered on November 5 to examinees throughout the nation, including 55 from Florida State.

“We are very proud that Florida State law students and alumni continue to achieve superb results on the Florida Bar exam,” said Dean Don Weidner. “Special congratulations and thanks go to our students and recent graduates for their outstanding accomplishment.”

Florida State University College of Law graduates also have a strong record on the general portion of the Florida Bar Examination. For eight of the last 12 administrations of the General Bar Exam, Florida State’s bar passage rate was either first or second among Florida’s 11 law schools.
