TALLAHASSEE — Hispanic Business magazine has named Florida State University College of Law the third best law school in the nation for Hispanic students. This is the second consecutive year Florida State is third on the list and the ninth year in a row that the College of Law has been named one of the top 10 law schools for Hispanic students. The 2012 rankings were released Aug. 28.

The magazine based its rankings on the following criteria: Hispanic student enrollment, Hispanic faculty members, Hispanic student retention rates, degrees conferred to Hispanics, progressive programs aimed at increasing enrollment of Hispanic students and school reputation as reflected in U.S. News & World Report.

“We are all thrilled to be named the nation’s third best law school for Hispanic students,” said Dean Don Weidner. “We pride ourselves on an environment in which everyone succeeds.”

The Hispanic Business ranking comes on the heels of Florida State being named the nation’s twelfth “best value” law school by The National Jurist magazine.
