TALLAHASSEE — In recognition of the centennial of the modern U.S. income tax, the Florida State University College of Law is hosting a distinguished array of tax law experts on March 1-2 for a symposium, “100 Years of the Federal Income Tax.” Participants, including many of the nation’s top tax scholars, will offer perspectives on lessons learned in 100 years and where we should go in the future. Judges, tax administrators, attorneys, academics and other tax professionals are invited to attend the event.

“We are thrilled to welcome renowned tax experts from around the country to join us in this important conversation,” said Dean Don Weidner. “I am proud that the tax experts on our faculty have crafted a program to put tax policy in historical perspective.”

Papers presented during the symposium will be published in an upcoming issue of the Florida State University Law Review. For more information about the event, including a schedule and list of featured presenters, visit http://www.law.fsu.edu/events/tax_symposium_2012.html.
