FSU College of Law Ranked Nation's 2nd Best
TALLAHASSEE — preLaw magazine has ranked the nation’s best law schools for public service, ranking Florida State University College of Law the 2nd best law school nationally in the category of public defender/prosecutor. The list identifies schools that best prepare students for jobs in public interest and government. The ranking, which is published in preLaw’s Winter 2016 issue, takes into account ABA employment data, school curricula, U.S. News & World Report indebtedness and salary data, and loan repayment options. Florida State is the only Florida law school ranked as one of the nation’s best for public service.
The national ranking reflects the law school’s strong job placement outcomes. According to U.S. News & World Report (2015), Florida State is Florida’s #1 law school, and the nation’s 26th best, in terms of job placement. “It also reflects our outstanding criminal law faculty and programs,” said Dean Donald J. Weidner, “which include both academic excellence and ‘real-world’ exposure.”
