In early April, students attended a Wellness Wednesday event with therapy dogs.

During the past year, we have found innovative ways to engage with students and provide wellness programming, despite COVID-19. We are grateful to Associate Dean Nancy Benavides and the entire student advancement team for continuing to create programming that connects, educates and supports our students. This semester’s wellness-themed events included a special Zoom session with Florida Bar President Dori Foster-Morales, who spoke about mental health and encouraged students to prioritize taking care of themselves. Among other events, students also attended a socially distanced vision board party to set intentions for 2021, participated in a Zoom cooking demonstration with alumnus David Varet (’12) and his canine sous chef Jackson, joined a yoga session led by a fellow law student and attended a session with therapy dogs on the James Harold Thompson Green at the end of the semester. In addition to the variety of events focused on well-being, students and other FSU Law community members were treated to the law school’s first drive-in movie at the end of March. The event featured a showing of Disney Pixar’s “Soul” in the Civic Center parking lot across from the law school. We were pleased to see so many students at our wellness and other events this year!
