TALLAHASSEE — Fully 30 percent of Florida State University College of Law alumni made cash contributions to the law school during the 2012-13 fiscal year, which ended June 30. This rate is a record for the law school that exceeds previous results already placing Florida State among the nation’s top 10 law schools in terms of alumni contribution rate, according to American Bar Association data. That data shows that Florida State’s 30 percent giving rate is more than triple the giving rate of any other Florida law school.

“We’re all thrilled by this result, which expresses the enthusiasm of our alumni for the law school,” said College of Law Dean Don Weidner.

“The record-breaking giving rate is a reflection of what makes the College of Law so unique among law schools – the loyalty and generosity of its alumni,” said College of Law Alumni Association Board of Directors President Jennifer Dixon (’04), who practices at Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, P.A., in Orlando.

“Many of our alumni are particularly proud of, and help us to achieve, the success our students have getting law jobs upon graduation,” said Weidner.
