TALLAHASSEE — Tallahassee attorney Nancy Mason Wallace, a 1995 graduate of the Florida State University College of Law, has pledged $25,000 to establish the Nancy Wallace Endowed Scholarship for Summer Program Alumni at the law school. The income from this endowment will be used to award at least one scholarship each year to recruit a graduate of the law school’s Summer for Undergraduates Program. This unique, four-week program provides college students an inside look at law school and the legal profession.

“I am familiar with the Summer Undergraduate Program because the participants visit Akerman Senterfitt. The participants include some of the top minority undergrads in the country. My hope is that this scholarship will assist in the recruitment of these students to the College of Law,” said Wallace. “I chose for the scholarship to go to a graduate of an HBCU. I hold FAMU close to my heart, both from living in Tallahassee for over 20 years, and from having many family members, including my daughter, and hundreds of friends who are current students or alumni of FAMU.”

“Everyone at the law school is extremely grateful to Nancy for this gift,” said Dean Don Weidner. “And we are very pleased that she has chosen to support one of our signature programs and to help us attract top students to Florida State for law school.”

Wallace is shareholder in the Tallahassee office of Akerman Senterfitt LLP, where she is part of the firm’s appellate practice group.
