TALLAHASSEE—Tampa attorney Richard B. “Rich” Hadlow, a 1977 law school graduate, has pledged $25,000 to the Florida State University College of Law. The gift establishes the Richard and Cynthia Hadlow Endowment for Excellence. 

The income generated by the endowment may be used at the discretion of the law school for any academic purpose. 

“We are all very grateful for Rich’s generous financial support of the law school,” said Dean Don Weidner. “In this down economy, we must count on private support more than ever. This endowment will help us continue to advance our excellent academic program.” 

“Cindy and I are eternally grateful for the excellent legal education I received at the College of Law,” said Hadlow. “The members of the faculty, even back in the Stone Age when I attended, were excellent and dedicated to the students. I have especially fond memories of Professor Chuck Ehrhardt and the outstanding tax faculty, in particular Professors Jacobs, Powell and Weidner. 

“I thoroughly enjoyed my three years at Florida State and attribute much of the success I have achieved to the College of Law. I am also extremely proud of all the strides that the school has made since then, particularly under the superior leadership of Dean Donald Weidner. This gift is only a small token of our gratitude to the school.” 1 2 Hadlow is a partner in the Tampa office of Holland & Knight. He practices primarily in the areas of securities law, corporate law, partnership law, corporate finance and mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.
