TALLAHASSEE — Twenty-seven percent of Florida State University College of Law alumni made cash contributions to the law school’s annual fund during the 2007-08 fiscal year, making the 2008 alumni giving rate the highest in the law school’s history.

Florida State Law ranks third best in the nation among public law schools in terms of alumni giving rate and 13th among all law schools, according to American Bar Association data.

“This level of success reflects a strong culture of philanthropy among our alumni and helps send a clear signal nationally that something very exciting is happening at Florida State Law,” said Dean Don Weidner. “Our 2008 student giving rate of 68 percent indicates that our students, in addition to our alumni, are contributing to the excitement.”
