2024-25 University Teaching Award for Community-Engaged Teaching Recipient Professor Rima Nathan

We are pleased to announce that Professor Rima Nathan has been selected as a recipient of the 2024-25 University Teaching Award for Community-Engaged Teaching.

The University Teaching Awards honor educators who demonstrate excellence in a range of areas, including serving as positive role models, fostering respect for truth and a passion for learning, challenging students to think critically, showing deep respect for all individuals, and utilizing innovative teaching methods.

Darby Kerrigan Scott Announced as Co-Director of PILC

We are excited to announce that Professor Darby Kerrigan Scott has been named Co-director of the Public Interest Law Center (PILC). During her time with the PILC, Professor Scott developed and directed several clinics including the Farmworker and Immigrant Rights Clinic (2018-21), the COVID-19 Veterans Legal Clinic (2020-21), and currently the International Human Rights Advocacy Clinic (2022-present).

Student News: Ellis Medal Winner Nicolas Lower

Congratulations to 3L Nicolas Lower who was selected as the 2025 Ellis Medal recipient during the D'Alemberte & Palmer Lecture in International Human Rights. The Ellis Medal recognizes a graduating student who has shown outstanding dedication to international affairs and human rights. Lower was selected for this honor due to his extensive work on human rights projects throughout his law school career.

His contributions range from advocating for free expression rights in Southern Africa to drafting legal policy memos on Russia's prosecution involving the Ukraine war.
