Ottelia Ameyaw is originally from Ghana, where she graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology with a Bachelor of Law degree as well as a Barrister at Law degree from the Ghana School of Law. Ottelia’s interest in Transactional Practice where she was previously involved mostly with drafting contracts and assisting clients with the legal aspects of complex transactions, drove her passion for business law. Ameyaw, after being admitted to the Ghana Bar in 2011, began her barrister career as a litigator in criminal, family, land and corporate law cases before transitioning to the banking and investment banking sector as in-house counsel. Before relocating to the United States, Ottelia worked as credit control within the Risk Management Department for United Bank for Africa Ltd. Through the LL.M. in Business Law, Ameyaw hopes to gain perspective and deeper knowledge of international transactions and business law with an ever-changing global economy.

After completing the LL.M in Business Law, Ameyaw intends to practice law in the United States in the areas of international business, risk management and regulatory compliance. If you are interested in hiring Ameyaw, please visit her LinkedIn profile.
