Why did you choose the College of Law?
I had a difficult time choosing a law school. I applied and was accepted at many, but something about Florida State Law just stood out. At Florida State Law, every student is treated with kindness and compassion by the admissions staff, professors, and the other students. I chose Florida State Law because I felt like I fit in here and because it immediately felt like home.

What has been the best experience you have had at the College of Law thus far?
My best experience at the College of Law at this point is my Torts class with Professor Mary Ziegler. Professor Ziegler has a passion for teaching, but she is also a nationally renowned author and frequently quoted in the news. Even though she is extremely busy being a mom, an author, and a professor, she was wonderful at making herself accessible to her students at any time, and went above and beyond in all aspects of her teaching.

What has been your most challenging experience in law school thus far?
My most challenging experience in law school is being a mama. I became a mom during the Fall of my 2L year. Being a law school mom is not easy, and it was not easy to do law school with a newborn. While it is hard to balance being a law student and a mom, I would not change it for the world. My daughter is the light of my life, and living with my little family of her, my husband and our dog keeps me motivated.

Which administrative office has been particularly helpful to you during your time at the College of Law?
The Office of Student Advancement has been the most helpful for me since starting law school. I know that if I call Dean Benavides, she will answer and if she is busy, she will call me back. Having this level of access is so unique to Florida State Law. Dean Benavides makes you feel at home in her office and at the law school in general. I consider her to be one of my best mentors and I am lucky to have had the opportunity to spend time with her.

Share a fun fact about yourself.
I watch episodes of One Tree Hill over and over, and I have seen most of them at least 20 times each. I probably should be embarrassed about this, but I am not.

Why did you become a student ambassador?
I want to help students who are struggling with deciding which school to choose. I toured six law schools, but it was Florida State Law’s Preview Day that swayed me into choosing FSU Law. I feel like all of my experience in applying and touring so many schools gives me the ability to provide guidance to students who are not sure where they want to go. I want to be able to help students make the best decision for them and explain to them why I love Florida State Law.
